Totally agree on guided trips. The French River has great outfitters like Hartley Bay Marina. If you want something wilder, Temagami’s got 4,300 km of routes. The Golden Staircase on the Lady Evelyn River is epic—nine waterfalls in a week-long trip. But it’s more for intermediate paddlers. For you, Riley, maybe try a 2-day guided trip on the Grand River. It’s a bit south but still in the region, with easy paddling and wildlife like deer and turtles.
